Dude I’m sorry this take sucks. This is not at ALL what is happening. I’m absolutely begging you guys to put aside your blanket dislike of reddit (there’s as much variety in “"redditors”“ as there are on tumblr you guys come on, use your heads) and actually research what’s happening. Yes this is funny, it’s SUPER funny I agree, but calling this whole thing a joke like this is playing into the propoganda machine!! News giants are trying to convince the public it’s a joke and it’s being done by basement dwellers because that ultimately helps them. By spreading this rhetoric you’re hurting the cause. It’s a CAUSE. You guys. YOU GUYS. Like do you understand what’s happening right now? This is the biggest stock market event that has happened.. basically ever. At least in our lifetimes. If everyone holding GME holds their ground, it’s going to change the entire landscape of the stock market. Wall street billionaires are going bankrupt. The bank will have to bail them out because they’re gonna go belly up. And when the banks don’t have enough money to cover their losses back to the GME investors, then the american government is going to be bailing the banks out…. And that’s billions of dollars out of the hands of the ultra rich and directly into the hands of the poor and middle classes.
Like. This is outright class warfare happening in america and yes the jokes are funny but some of them are going too far. You all need to acknowledge what is happening right now and how important it is. We’re not crashing the economy at all, we are eating the rich.
